The Story of One Artist
Traditionally, an artist bio page is a formal statement that includes a long list of credentials, exhibits and awards. Being a less formal personality, these thoughts are my life in this moment. Genuine appreciation and credit for inspiration goes to every experience and a multitude of special, generous people.
My art is embedded with music and passion and metaphorical whimsy woven through brilliant color, movement and light. Beneath the surface, each is a unique window on the wall intended to nourish thought and delight imagination.
Living with intention is an art that colors the universe. As a living creation, art has a unique voice. Art is music for your eyes. Our world needs the beauty artists create to balance the dark, ugly corners. Every day of being alive should include celebration.
Maybe it’s your heart that hears what your eyes feel. The true connection is how we see what touches us – a familiar memory embellished with fondness – a treasure. A gift we pass on to others…forward in time as imagination changes the past. We truly are – all of us – creators. Everything we see was created by someone.
It’s interesting to think about how we all came to be where we are right now. I was actually born on a farm in Germany. Before I arrived, my father dodged grenades during WWII to find food beneath the moonlight for his mother and sister. My great-grandfather was a teacher and poet. Yet here I am – painting and writing in Oregon – by the heart of the same moon.
Life is intriguing…we wonder what’s next and imagine what our children might do in the future.
Our beliefs shape our lives adding layers of substance built upon intention. My intention is to use a variety of talents and resources to create art, promote imagination and share a safe, sustainable environment that allows children to explore their artistic ability before someone else convinces them they have none.
Artists tell stories with color. Can you feel the color? Do you hear the light? Will you see the wind? Please don’t hesitate to connect with a comment, questions – or your story. Every artist has a story. We CAN change our thoughts to expand imagination.
Combined, our imagination can change everything – One Peace at a Time.
